What is Simple Present Tense?

Grammar is an essential element in language that ensures the words, sentences, speeches, and texts we produce are correct and arranged. It helps the speakers or writers to explain the setting of the time of the event. There are three common English tenses: past, present, and future. How to Form Simple Present Tense?

Learning about tense in English is essential as it helps us to describe or understand when an event occurred. As we know from the previous part, there are three common tenses in English: past, present, and future. These three tenses are the central divisions of time in English. The present denotes actions happening now, the past represents actions that occurred earlier, and the future describes events that will happen later.

We can use simple present tense for two purposes: to express the currently happening action or to refer to an activity that occurs regularly. Many experts stated that this type of tense is the simplest of the three tenses, without too many rules. The essential law of simple present tense that people should remember is whether we should put s at the end of the verb. It depends on the subject. The present tense uses the infinitive (base) for all conjugations except for the singular third person. We can add the suffix "-s" to create the present tense. We can also use simple present tense to express a negative sentence (I do not want to meet him.) or question (Where do you want to go?).
