What is light?

What is reflection?

What is refraction?

Refraction is the bending of light as it passes from one medium to another, such as from air to water or glass. This bending occurs because light changes speed when it moves from one medium to another due to their different densities. Refraction causes the light rays to change direction, resulting in phenomena such as the bending of a straw in a glass of water or the formation of rainbows in the sky.

How does light create colors?

Light creates colors through a process called absorption and reflection. When light hits an object, the object absorbs some of the light and reflects the rest. The reflected light then enters our eyes, where it is detected by specialized cells called cones. These cones are sensitive to different wavelengths of light, which we perceive as colors. The color we see is determined by which wavelengths are reflected by the object and which are absorbed. What is the relationship between light and shadows?

How is light used in optics and lenses?

Lenses are designed to bend light rays, either converging them to a single point (convex lenses) or diverging them (concave lenses), which enables the formation of magnified or diminished images. How does light enable vision?
